BayPod Sensors
BayPod sensors are ground-based, wireless parking sensors installed directly within each parking bay to detect vehicle presence in real time. Each sensor operates on long-life battery power of up to ten years and is designed for quick, non-invasive installation without trenching or cabling, making it ideal for both indoor and outdoor parking environments and a flexible component of our wider smart parking guidance system.
Gateways
Gateways collect occupancy data from multiple BayPod sensors and transmit it securely to the central cloud platform. With long-range wireless communication of up to approximately three kilometres line-of-sight, gateways support large-scale deployments while minimising infrastructure requirements.
VMS Signs
Variable Message Signs display live parking availability using data captured from BayPod sensors and processed through the cloud platform. Signage communication is fully wireless, enabling real-time updates and flexible placement at entrances, levels, and key decision points throughout the facility.

How It Works
The BayPod System uses ground-based, wireless sensors installed directly within parking bays to detect vehicle presence in real time. Each sensor continuously monitors occupancy status and transmits this information wirelessly, eliminating the need for overhead structures, trenching, or hard-wired connections. The low-profile sensor design allows for fast installation with minimal disruption to existing carpark operations.
Sensor data is transmitted over long-range wireless communication to strategically positioned gateways, which act as the aggregation point for multiple sensors across the site. These gateways securely forward occupancy data to the BayPod Cloud Platform, where information is processed, stored, and made available in real time. The system architecture supports large-scale deployments across on-street and off-street environments while maintaining low power consumption and high reliability.
Once processed, live parking data is distributed to connected outputs including Variable Message Signs, digital wayfinding displays, web dashboards, and third-party systems via API integration. Operators can access real-time visibility, historical reports, enforcement insights, and performance analytics from anywhere through a web-based interface, enabling smarter parking management, improved compliance, and better utilisation of parking assets.
