How It Works

The Rapid Ramp System operates by assigning a fixed priority to one direction of travel, typically vehicles entering the site. In its normal Default Mode, the priority direction is continuously shown a green signal, while the opposing, non-priority direction is held on red. This mode runs indefinitely and requires no intervention, allowing traffic to flow freely in the primary direction unless a request is made from the opposite end.

When a vehicle is detected at the non-priority end, the system enters Activation Mode and initiates a time-based control sequence. The system first displays an all-red phase to allow the ramp to fully clear, then releases the non-priority direction with a green signal for a predefined period to allow the vehicle to pass. Once complete, a second all-red phase ensures the ramp is clear before the system automatically returns to Default Mode with priority reinstated. If a blockage or abnormal condition is detected, the system enters a fail-safe fault mode, displaying flashing red signals until the issue is resolved, ensuring safe operation at all times.
